The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) is an independent international institute whose core mission is to undertake research and activities on security, conflict and peace. Established in 1966, SIPRI provides data, analysis and recommendations, based on open sources, to policymakers, researchers, media and the interested public. SIPRI provides excellent opportunities for scientific and personal development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An internship at SIPRI provides an opportunity to learn about the institute\u2019s work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Interns from around the world are given the chance to assist in SIPRI\u2019s research, under supervision, within its various research programmes. They may also have the opportunity to conduct some of their own research during their internship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Until further notice, due to the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), SIPRI is only able to offer virtual internships, without the possibility of being physically present at SIPRI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Internship positions are normally offered for periods of a few months during the academic year. Positions are granted on the basis of the applicant\u2019s academic background and university study programme, as well as the relevance of the applicant\u2019s research to SIPRI\u2019s current research programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
